Lawine is a collective of anarchists. We strive for a free world without governments. Governments do more harm than good. As long as I can vote, there will be governments. Those governments support capitalism, borders, cops, prisons. It supports (wage) slavery, patriarchy and discrimination. I cannot vote fo such nonsense.
With that mind, I decide not to vote. Every political party (how socialist or green they may seem) are playing the same power-over-people-game. And what I hate most about it is that voting creates false hope and expectations. The people think they can have a say by voting, so it weakens the argument against having a government in the first place. We all know the comments: ‘if you don’t vote, you shouldn’t open your mouth’ or ‘you want change, start your own political party’. The idea of no government at all doesn’t even come to mind and is seen as absurd.
Voting makes the people passive and (almost literally) give the power out of their hands. So much for trust and faith in ourselves… it’s time to take that back.
lyrics
I walk away, from a question I never asked
From an option I never wanted.
From a choice that is no choice.
In your eyes, I walk away
A red pencil, a piece of paper and choice to make
Between suit and tie hoodlums and greedy thiefs
“You can count on me, put your trust in me”
In your eyes, I walk away
From the biggest circus coming through town
All dressed up, ready for the show
Balloons, word acrobats and the essential clowns
(Thank you) for fucking nothing
We’ll be just fine, we’ll be okay, we’ll be just fine, we’ll be okay
Oh, if I could only burn it down and walk away
